Hello everyone,

AkaKitsune Survival & Creative was intended to be the last time I'd be hosting a Minecraft server. However, since there was a demand for it, and also new developments happened these past few months in the Minecraft Server community, I decided to host a server one last time. This time, the constraints are different. Last time, I still have a considerable amount of resources to continue hosting, but I just felt that it is not worth the time to migrate the server. This time, however, will be the final goodbye for true cloud hosting as I have finally run out of any Google Cloud credits.

Over the past years, I was grateful to be able to meet with a lot of people by hosting this server, and I will continue to cherish these memories. These memories and experiences are irreplaceable and I will never be able to feel something similar again.

AkaKitsune originally started when I first played Minecraft with my friends on a Realms Server I created. It was fun to play together at that time, and after a while, since I did not have any capitals to invest in the service, I cancelled the Realms server and we tried a lot of other services. There was this time where we bought a 5 USD server package from a small Minecraft hosting site, and it was very laggy. I still remember that. It was very fun.

Then I found out about Google Cloud free tier and we started to test out using that as hosting. On Google Cloud, I launched AkaKitsune Survival, Creative and even java Edition at some point. This was the peak of the server, in my opinion, with a lot of new people joining. However, since nothing lasts forever, I decided to pull out of hosting since the player base fell down sharply. It was really intended to be my last time hosting a game server since I was entering university and such, and I did not have any time to manage the server.

However, this all changed by late 2020 when GeyserMC launched officially. The ability to sync Java and Bedrock players was a dream in the past, and it was finally possible. I decided to use this final remaining credits I have to host one last server, AkaKitsune Neo. This server won't last long though, and by the time you're reading this, the server might be the only thing running on the cloud, since I migrated every other service like all those Discord Bots to my private network.

With that said, AkaKitsune Neo will stop its operations by 14 March 2021 or whenever the allocated cost is too low to maintain the server for one full day, whichever comes first. This means that the server will only be available until 13 March 2021.
